Shocking Incident at Gudlavalleru College of Engineering: Hidden Camera Found in Hostel Washroom.

Hidden Cameras Found in Girls Hostel Washroom

Students held a protest against the college administration after the horrifying occurrence at Seshadri Rao Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Gudlavalleru under Gudivada mandal. They claimed that the college administration did not move against two final year students who had placed a concealed camera in the hostel’s restroom.

The students further claimed that the pair used the hidden camera to film over 300 movies, which they then distributed to other male college students and even sold to third parties.

It is stated that around 200 female students left the dorm and held signs calling for the accused to be taken into custody.

Parents who hurried to the institution insisted on a detailed probe into the event involving the concealed cameras in the females’ dorm.

What actions are the officials taking?

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Minister of Human Resources Department Nara Lokesh, and Minister of Home Affairs Vangalapudi Anitha directed the relevant officials to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident and take appropriate action against those responsible after the students’ agitation continued on Friday morning.

According to a story in The New Indian Express, CM Naidu also sent Superintendent of Police (SP) R Gangadhar Rao, Minister Kollu Ravindra, and District Collector DK Balaji instructions to visit the campus and assess the situation.

In response to the directives, Krishna district SP R Gangadhar Rao established a special investigative team consisting of four female officers, including an IT specialist, and Gudivada crimes inspector Ramanamma in order to look into and gather evidence supporting the claims.

Krishna district SP R Gangadhar Rao said two students were taken into custody and found nothing in their laptops and mobile phones. He also said some students spread rumours about the incident following which the students suspected the duo.

“We did not find any cameras in the girls’ hostel during our checking. Police searched laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic gadgets of two students in front of other students and college staff. No videos and photos, as students allege, were found. Students need not worry about this problem,” SP said.
