Instagram provides username and a Name(Profile Name) on Instagram for your account. Sometimes, you want to change your name, so to change it go to > Your Profile, select Edit Profile, and enter your new name, but you can change your name up to two times within 14 days.
- Username – Your username is shown at the top of your profile and it is unique for every user.
- Profile Name – Name appears below your profile icon, it contains emoji and special characters and it doesn’t have to be unique.
Here’s how to change Instagram name:
Change Instagram Name on App
- Open the Instagram App.
- Navigate to your profile.
- Open Edit Profile.
- Click on Name.
- Remove your current name and then type a new name.
- Click on “Done”.
Change Instagram Name on Desktop
- Open the instagram through url “https://www.instagram.com”.
- Sign IN to your profile.
- From the top right corner, click on the Profile symbol.
- Choose “Profile”.
- Then select “Edit Profile”.
- Change current name and enter the new one.
- Click “Submit”.
